Chestnut Cottage COVID-19 Statement
The safety and wellbeing of our guests and friends who stay with us is our top priority. We have always provided the highest standard of cleanliness and hygiene at Chestnut Cottage and we will continue to do so.
As part of our response to the COVID-19 pandemic we have taken additional measures to ensure our cleaning and hygiene processes and procedures are even more robust. These have been developed following government advice for our sector.
Cottge Cleaning Routine
- PPE will be worn during cleaning (gloves, mask and apron)
- All our cottage linen (towels, bedlinen, throws, teatowels etc) are washed via external laundry services (Viking Laundry in Scarborough) who follow government guidelines for washing and servicing all laundry
- All hard floors and surfaces are washed down with antiviral detergents including door handles, handrails, tables, window sills, cupboards, seating and bathroom walls
- Soft furnishings have been replaced with items which can be washed after each stay; if they cannot be washed, they have been removed
- All kitchen utensils and equipment are removed after each stay and washed in a dishwasher before replacement
- All extraneous items and low volume touch items have been removed such as guestbooks, games, DVDs, tourist leaflets etc
- Guest information ahs been provided in separate wipeable plastic sleeves in a wipeable plastic folder
- Hand sanitiser and masks are available for guests to use
Check-in
- Guests are asked to provide an estimated time of arrival with check in after 4pm
- Guests will be welcomed in the car park at 2m distance
- Guests who have booked online have agreed to follow Chestnut Cottage’s COVID-19 protocols
- Guests who have booked direct, by paying a deposit and receiving a confirmation email for their dates, have agreed to follow Chestut Cottage’s COVID-19 protocols
- Any guests with symptoms of COVID-19 on arrival will not be permitted to stay
- Any guests who develop symptoms during their stay will be asked to go home if possible and to follow the governement guidelines in seeking professional advice and treatment
Check Out
- All guests will be asked to call if they develop symptoms withi 14 days of check-out
- All guests will be asked to leave their towels/bed linen in a laundry bag, to open their windows and to bag up any rubbish placing it in the refuse wheelie bins
- All recycling to be washed and placed in the recycling bin provided
