Oh dear – one of our apple trees here at @chestnutebberston just tipped up its toes. Well, with a bit of help from a chainsaw obviously. Not sure how old it was but it was very dead and needed to come down. Chessie supervised from the fringes.The other bad news is that the big fir is to come down too. Very shallow roots and top heavy growth. We think it would head for the pond if it fell in high winds. The good news is that the view from the Orchard is still as good as ever and you can see it for yourselves if you visit us this Autumn or for your Winter break.
